“Leadership Training forms an integral part of the Co-Curricular activities at Queens Science Academy”
At QSA we believe that co-curricular involvement helps children how to manage their time more effectively, develop leadership skills and builds self confidence.
The Co- curricular activities at QSA is divided into several areas. Each area is led by an Activity Co-ordinator who oversees events and reports back to the Key Stage Co-ordinator. The main areas are:
• Sporting Activities
• Cultural and Arts Activities (Performing Arts)
• Intellectual and Social Activities
• Community Based Projects
• The President’s Awards
• Leadership Training
• Local, National and International Excursions
Some of our more popular activities include the Robotics Club, the Homemakers Club, the Young Farmers Club and the Anti Litter Group.
Other clubs such as the Recycling Club and the Fish Farming Project are run as viable businesses. As well as taking part in these great ventures, participants learn to develop their managerial and business skills whilst experiencing first hand how a real business operates.
Our objective is also to instill leadership skills amongst our students through the provision of courses that seek to promote and develop self understanding, communication and organizing skills. As such Leadership Training forms an integral part of the Co-Curricular activities at Queens Science Academy. Our girls not only take part in the Annual Sea School Programme but also undergo formal training in the principles and practices of Leadership.
